Blue LED light for wireless card not active (HP Pavillion ZV6123) even though Broadcom windows drivers are successfully installed via ndiswrapper. Unable to connect to or detect any wireless network. Any ideas to get the wireless card turned ON appreciated. The driver does seem to be happily installed as shown below? Any other info will try to provide on request.

Ignore the led. Those are just indicators that make your laptop look pretty for windows users. As for your issue, looks like the driver works.

check out a "iwconfig" and you probably want to do "iwlist wlan0 scanning" to check out local wireless LANs around you. Use iwconfig to configure your wireless settings and use ifup and ifdown to start and stop your wlan0. Youll probably have to stop, start wlan0 after making a change in iwconfig. Oh and iwconfig doesnt use WPA, so I would start out trying to connect unsecured (no wireless key) then build from there.

Thanks for the reply. Is it best to go with the telnet commands you listed or use 'kinternet' or 'kwifimanager' to find a network. I couldn't get either of these programs to scan/detect an open network (linksys). I read in some other posts (different site) that one needs to make sure the wireless device is enabled in addition to the driver up and running. I've checked the Bios and the wireless is indeed enabled upon startup? I will try the “iwlist wlan0 scanning” next time I have access to wireless isp.
