No alt-ctrl-F7/F8

I recently did the KDE upgrade. I did this upgrade through YaST and everything seemed to go fine. All my apps work and everything looks real nice. The problem I have had crop up is that I can't use the ctrl-alt-F7/F8 to switch from one session to the other. I can use the switch option and log in to the new session, but when I try to switch the screen goes black and the cursor just blinks in the upper left corner. When this happens the computer is frozen in this mode. The only option I have is a ctrl-alt-del to reboot. Any ideas?

Are you sure it is F7 F8. How many tty's does Suse use. Check your /etc/inittab and see what is in there. To see what is up try this. Hit alt-ctrl-F1 ( that session one ). Increment up from there and see what comes up.

That is one thing I forgot to mention. I can cntl-alt-F1 etc and works fine. I can't get back into a X session. I'm sure it's F7or F8. I used regularly before I did the KDE upgrade.
