New SuSE11 SP1 install on Dell R710 will not boot

All,

I just attempted to upgrade a SLES 10 32bit system to SLES 11 SP1 x64 on a R710 attached to a MD3220 array attached via two perc H200s. I'm booting off the SAS 6/IR controller with two R1 136 volumes.

During the setup the process, under partitioning, the first disk device listed is sdc? sda and sdb are not even listed. There are no logical volumes configured on the MD3220 either. I have rebooted several times but same outcome... Any help is appreciated!

This won't be of much help, but the SUSE 11 installer didn't put GRUB where I told it to and it ended up corrupting my MBR. It was supposed to put it in the Linux root partition as I had set it up to do.

Maybe there's an issue with the installer. It certainly doesn't seem to like being told what to do. Same for Fedora. Ubuntu has this issue but fixed it a version or two ago. (I don't use Ubuntu, though.)

Well, iDrac components were getting mounted as sda and b but not showing in the device list... I disabled the usb driver from loading in SUSE install and yay, I have sda again!
