mplayer and Firefox mms streams and more

I finally got mplayerplug-in to go onto firefox. Then I tried to play a streaming film from movies.yahoo.com. All I see is a gray box where mplayer tells me the status that it is buffering then connecting. Then I hear audio but still all I see is the gray box with the status but no video. How can I make it so I see video?

Does anyone know if the evaluation DVD version of SuSe 10.0 has plugins already installed for streaming audio and video? If so I might just go ahead and install that...
