moving to openSUSE with poor internet

I'm moving from debian to opensuse 10.2. I had installed debian using the netintsall iso and I was able to install the base system and then gradually build on that. While trying to install opensuse I learned that the netinstall requires a lot of download which I can not do at one go due to my poor internet connection. So, I've downloaded the opensuse x86_64 cd1 iso and am currently downloading the 2nd cd. My question is if I start the installation with these two cds which desktop environment would I be able to install and what other things will be available in these two cds.

I plan to install a minimum system then gradually, one by one, install the things I require.

P.S: I have a Pentium D 2.8Ghz em64t, 1GB DDR2 ram, 256MB ati radeon X600 PCI express. what are the chances of me getting good performance with Xgl-beryl in opensuse10.2

I'm not positive, but I think that if the YaST installer doen't have all the disks available it won't be able to quit in a usable state. I think maybe if you stopped it might pick up where it left off but at that point you don't yet have a bootable OS. Check the local magazine racks, there is surely one which features a DVD containing OpenSuSE and various live Distros which are bootable right off the DVD. And it would cost no more than a magazine that would be interesting to read anyway.

I live in Bangladesh and shopping for linux is not an option here. So I'll need all the 5 cds?
