Moving root from a dual-boot HDD to a new HDD

Here's the problem:

I currently have SuSE 9.1/Win2000 on an 80-GB drive as a dual boot system using the GRUB bootloader. I recently bought a 250-GB SATA HDD and want to move my entire linux system over to it and let Windows have the old drive.

How do I go about doing this? I have a vague notion of copying "/" over to the new drive and setting that as the mount point in YaST. I wanted to get some expert opinions on the matter before I do anything though.

Thanks for your help and let me know if you need anymore information,
Androoski

perhaps dd work here, it copies directly to other partition,

like

dd if=/dev/hda5 of=/dev/hdc5

where,
hda5 is your first disk's linux partition and
hdc5 is your second disk's linux partition.
