monitor keeps going into standby after 10min

hi
im running suse 93... but my monitor goes into standby mode after about 10 minutes!!

when i try to change this, by going to control center, Power Control, the regular settings are Not there.

instead, i get this message:
Your computer seems to have a partial ACPI installation. ACPI was probably enabled, but some of the sub-options were not - you need to enable at least 'AC Adaptor' and 'Control Method Battery' and then rebuild your kernel.

any idea how i do this??

Are you on a laptop or a desktop? It sounds like you are going to have to do a kernal recompile. There is a section in the SUSE admin manual, as well as a wiki on this site on how to accomplish it.
