Linux keeps saving my behind with windows problems (HAL.DLL)
I think it's awesome. If I didn't have Suse linux installed, I don't know where i'd be right now. Probably throwing my PC out the "window(s)".
I keep getting the notorious HAL.DLL FILE IS CORRUPTED OR MISSING error on bootup of windows. It happens when I lose the grub bootloader (error 21) that keeps happening lately, I don't know why. Just recently. It supposedly happens when you dual boot w/linux but it just started a few weeks ago, never before. If I didn't have suse installed I wouldn't be able to see WHY it's happening and get on the net for the info. I just wanted to let everybody know who reads this that Linux rocks! |
I'm sure that there are a few members who have had to mount their C:\\windows\system partitions from Linux and replace a few .dll files because they were corrupted/hosed...........Me, I used to mount the windows/TIF dir and delete the index.dat file in internet explorer because index.dat is a small spyware file that logs the URL's that one visits while using IE.....but that was before I started using firefox!!
