LCD Screen Problems

Hi all,

I put Suse 10 on my pc recently. It is a great OS. I love it so far. The only gripe I have is it wont work with my LCD screen. It worked when I first installed suse but then I rebooted and the image on the screen will scroll continualy acrossed it. But it works fine on a regular crt monitor. What do I need to do to fix it. Please help. Thanks

Do you know the make + model of your monitor, or have the manual lying around for it? It sounds like it can't correctly determine the horizontal + vertical refresh rates properly. You can fire up sax2 to reconfigure your monitor from the console. Simply press Ctrl-Alt-F1 after the system has booted and the graphics become distorted and log in as root. Then:
Code:

init 3
sax2

. This will go back through re-configuring your display, allowing you try auto-detecting your monitor settings again, or manually provide them.

It is a Whestinghouse LCMv5 15 inch LCD. I will try to reconfigure it. Thanks
