Konsole cannot display characters cleanly on DELL LCD monitor
Hi friends,
Does someone know how to setup X11 for DELL monitor config correctly. I have DELL E153FPb (15" flat panel monitor). When Konsole of KDE displays characters on the screen, the characters in a line shrinks in the height and it is hard to read them, while the X11 windows GUI displays clear. I guess that this comes from xorg.conf. Please give me a hint to fix this, or if you have a DELL flat panel monitor working well on your SUSE, please show your config value for X11. //////// detail info ///////// SUSE-10.0 DELL PowerEdge-SC420 DELL E153FPb LCD (15" flat panel monitor) xorg-x11-6.8.2 and its value as below: Section "Monitor" Option "CalcAlgorithm" "XServerPool" DisplaySize 300 230 HorizSync 30-61 Identifier "Monitor[0]" ModelName "DELL E153FP" Option "DPMS" VendorName "DEL" VertRefresh 43-76 UseModes "Modes[0]" EndSection ///////////////////////////////// Thanks, Shigeru |
if i understood what u are saying, just open konsole from kde then settings->font->select
and select the size and font that best fits to you Cheers |
Thanks for your reply.
I tried set konsole up changing some of font size and others, but it still does not work. I am not sure in detail how konsole displays characters on the screen, but it seems that frame buffer is not displayed clearly on the konsole monitor, like half bottom of the characters drops in a line, some characters remains in a place on the monitor. Thanks, Shigeru |
I found next best
kate console displays clearly while konsole's badly.
I searched a hardware specification for my monitor and I changed xorg.conf for dell e153 fp but it still displays badly. Kate has console sub window. It displays clearly. Shigeru |
