kernel panic at suse 10.0 installation

hello people

I'm trying to update suse 9.3 to 10.0 from 5 CDs. But now I get kernel panic when I try to boot.

When I boot with failsafe, I get to the command line login and can login, and then start KDE with startx. Everything seems fine except that the mouse doesn't work, but that may be a separate problem.

How can I get rid of the kernel panic? The computer has two hard disks. They are used as software raid 1. md0 is swap, and md1 is the rest.

The last few lines on the screen read:

Loading raid1
md: raid1 personality registered as nr 3
Waiting for device /dev/md0 to appear: ok
no record for 'md0' in database
Attempting manual resume
Kernel panic - not syncing: I/O error reading memory image

Thanks in advance for any help

In your lilo.conf or grub configuration take out the resume=/dev/md? kernel parameter.

You can correct this with the rescue boot on the installation CD.
