kde fail to start


hi good day.im having problem about kde.when im try to login as a user kde wont start,got a error msg something like this "couldnt start kmsserver,check your installation".anyone can help me to solve this problem

I'm fairly new to linux... only been running it as my primary OS for about a year now... but here's a little something that happened to me that sounds similar to your problem.

Somehow my nvidia drivers got fscked, and "kde" or "startx" wouldn't work...

After some googling I found a solution that allowed me to start KDE and get my drivers re-installed.

login as root...
su
then...
modprobe nvidia
then...
startx or kde

Now, I have no idea if this will work for you. This was all because of my nvidia drivers. Once I did that, I was able to get back into KDE and download / install my drivers.
