kde 3.4 and GDM

Hello I am using kde 3.4 on a SuSE 9.2 box. Now I really would like to use gdm as my display manager, but the problem is that under session there is no kde entry. I have googled around to try to find a solution, but the setup for gdm and kde seems to be totally different in Suse? Can anyone advise me on how to solve this problem?

Have you got the GDM package installed?

First, check that there's a kde.desktop file in /opt/gnome/share/xsessions/.
Make sure the first lines read like the following:

Code:
[Desktop Entry]
Encoding=UTF-8
Type=XSession
Exec=/opt/kde3/bin/startkde
TryExec=/opt/kde3/bin/startkde
Name=KDE
Or just copy ~/kdm/sessions/kde.desktop over to your ~/xsessions/ directory.
