interface eth0 is not (yet?) active

I have running Suse 9.1

I find some warnings in system log (boot.omsg):
<notice>start services (network)
Setting up network interfaces:
lo
lo IP address: 127.0.0.1/8

Warning: c.
Warning: No interface active (yet?)done eth0 device: Davicom Semiconductor, Inc. Ethernet 100/10 MBit (rev 31)
eth0 configuration: eth-id-00:08:a1:12:a4:35
eth0 IP address: 192.168.0.1/24
doneSetting up service network . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .done
<notice>exit status of (network) is (0)
<notice>start services (syslog)

this is the normal log and the network runs fine

but time to time the network start fails, and after message warning of not interface active do not apear the line eth0 configuration ...

just shutding down the network and re-start again (or restart the machine) normally works fine, but a wonder to know what the problem is

any help will be welcome, thanks

I has a similar issue where from time to time I could not connect to the internet. I have since downloaded the suggested patches using SUSE Watcher and all is well...
