Installation of the driver for PCMCIA net card LNA-100N under SuSE 9.1 Pro
Hello everybody!
At the present I configure SuSE 9.1 Pro on my notebook - IBM TP 600X. Everything went perfectly except the network card. I have a PCMCIA network card LNA-100N from "Billionton" (Asian company, located in Taiwan). SuSE 9.1 doesn't recognize the card. So, I serached the web for drivers. Actually, I found a set of them. Unfortunatelly, not for SuSE, but for RedHat (6.2 / 7.0). There are compiled drivers as well as source code available. My questions to the community are: 1) can I use those precompiled drivers from RedHat under SuSE? 2) if no, how can I add the drivers to my system? Should I recompile the kernel including those sources? Are there less "bloody" ways? :-) Thanks in advance for your hints and your help! Regards, Andrey. PS. 1) the card works OK under WinXP - I had to add a driver for this card, but it worked out; 2) my notebook recognizes other cards perfectly - today I tried it with one of my colleagues. We tried to put another card in slot "0". It was recognized, interface "eth0" was assigned and I could ping. (But my card didn't work... :-(( ) OK, thanks for help in advance. |
No ideas?
Hi!
Nobody can help me? Strange... OK, let me put my question in other way. If I have a source code of the driver that was intended for RedHat, can I compile this code for SuSE? Regards, A. |
Yes, if you have the source code just recompile your kernel with it. There should be install instructions when you download the source code.

Thanx!
