Install problem - hang with io scheduler cfq registered (Default)


I was hoping someone could suggest a solution to my install problem.

OS: openSuSE 11.1 x64 DVD ISO media
MB: nForce® 750a SLI Motherboard

Onboard Graphics

sata drive: 1 tb (clean nothing on it)

I have disabled the APIC bios feature.

So far boot options tried:

video mode: text
Safe boot mode

boot options: noapic acpi=off nofb

then

boot options: noapic maxcpus=1

all stop on: ip scheduler cfq registered (default)


Any suggestions would be very appreciated.

Same problem
MB: AOpen i945Pa-PLF
CPU: Intel P4 640
OS: SLAX or RescueCD (all kernels)

boot options all or every combination: noapic acpi=off nofb
