Install Gnome after installing KDE, which packages?

Hi.

I'm running OpenSuSE 10.3 and when I did the initial installation I chose KDE. However, I'd like now to install Gnome as well. Using YaST2 and searching for Gnome yields lots of results. I can't imagine all packages listed need to be installed. Is there an easier way to install the Gnome desktop? (Like in Mandriva where the user simply selects task-gnome which then builds the appropriate modules, etc.)
Thanks much.

Richard

in Yast2-> software management -> package groups -> gnome desktop

there's also a similar grouping mechanism called "patterns", which is a newer mechanism (though I don't know the actuall differences either should work).

Gnome desktop specifics?

I am unable to find the Gnome Desktop package group you mentioned. I was however, able to find System\GUI\GNOME - the specific package named gnome-desktop is installed.There is also a X11\GNOME\Multimedia.

At the initial login screen I do not have Gnome as an available Session Type.

Any direction would be much appreciated. I would love to bounce between the different desktop environment instead of dual booting.

btw: just like the previous poster - I down loaded the KDE version first.

Thanks!

okay load yast2 as root fro konsole (or if from the kmenu it should ask you for the root password)

yast2 -> software -> software management -> filter -> patterns
under patterns, there's desktop environments then select "gnome base" and "gnome desktop" then at bottom of page click "accept"

OR you can plot in your Suse dvd and instead of install check update and then the same above
