Init Handling in SuSE

Does anyone know of a website or reference that documents how the SuSE distribution handles the init runlevel services?

If I am getting this right, the init handler goes through all scripts in "/etc/rc.d" and then executes the according runlevel directory (eg. rc5.d) after exiting single user?
