Import channel list to smart package manager

I have looked looked all over and i am unable to find how to import a large list of channels to smart package manager.
I am trying to use the list that was posted by Linux_learner. I would post the list but for some reason i am not allowed to post urls. This is a long list. Surely there is a way to import this list. can anyone help?

I'm fairly certain that you have to add channels one by one. This site will give you a sample of the command line.

I have an idea you are not able to post links for the first X posts - probably intended to impede spammers. The rule is written somewhere. Make a few posts.

If yo0u have the list as a text file, then from the command line as root do:

smart channel --add filename.txt

that will add all the channels in your text file ... you should then update each channel separately so you can watch their progression ... but be advised that with too many channels you can get into trouble when/if you update all software at once ...

Can you explain what kind of trouble you can get in? What would you recommend? i would really like to post the url and show you the massive list of channels, but i have not posted enough yet. Im sure i would get in trouble if i added them all but i dont know which to do in what order.

you might run into dependency troubles say if one repo has updated but the depends haven't been updated ... I mean its easy enough to get out of but why go there to begin with ... I use kde as my window manager so along with inst_source and non oss inst_source I have added guru and packman .. then I also added the gnome update source and 2 kde repos - current and backports - and the suse update repo ..... for example jhengle has a repo with his compiled suse kernels ... I had to go through hoops to get his kernel and sources installed only to find that my touchpad didn't work after the "upgrade" so I had to re install the ones from the suse update repo
