I downloaded the Suse 10 torrent, ISOs don't burn correctly - Please help

I spent 24 hours downloading this, now when I burn the ISOs, Sonic says an error occurred. I tried another burning software as well, and it doesn't mention that an error occurred, but the CD doesn't work after being created. Any ideas?

Did you burn the ISO files as a data disc, or as a CD image? You have to make sure to burn the .iso files as a CD image or they will not be bootable.

I burned the ISO as an image. When I burn it with Sonic, it reports that the burn has finished with errors (but doesn't specify the errors). Cheetah is the other burning app I have...that burns without an issue, but the finished disc comes up as being 0 bytes and does not boot.

I guess I'm going to just go back and download each iso individually from SUSE.

How were the checksums? I've never heard of sonic or cheetah.
Try Deepburner. It works good for burning cd images.

Thanks for the suggestions...I am installing deepburn as I type this. Also, I wasn't able to successfully run a check on the checksum...I never tried doing that until now and so I downloaded a few apps to verify it, but I can't seem to get them to work correctly.

OK, I finished burning CD1 using deepburn and it appeared to burn successfully (no errors). However, when I tryied to boot to it, it did not work. Any other ideas?

Yes, it is set to boot from the CDROM, in fact it is set to boot ONLY from the CDROM.

Sounds like your .iso file is bad....hate to crap on your lawn, but I'd bet that's the issue. All that I can suggest is to download it again....although I'm downloading the SuSE 10.0 Eval DVD .iso right now from a torrent....so I'm getting nervous. Your best bet is to use K3B and when you point it to an .iso file, it will check the md5 sum for you. Good luck!

I'm fighting with Frugalware right now. Checksums are ok and I'm on my second burn but I get a fatal error after it installs everything. Nice.

I downloaded the ISOs via the torrent. The only problem I'm having is that a media check of the fist disc tells me there is an error. I'm not sure if the problem is inherent in the iso I have for it, or if the burn wasn't successful. I'm hoping it's the latter, but I need to find the individual iso md5 checksums. The OpenSUSE.org web site only lists the md5 checksums for the torrent files. Anyone know what the iso checksums are?

Thanks.
