HVR-2250 TV card

I have installed SuSE 12.1 64 bit which is very stable.
It has an option for a TV card, and I have a HVR-2250 which 12.1 finds when set to Auto-detect but that is about it. It always reports no channels found, or no tuner available.
If I manually select any of the other 2250 cards it list, it reports no tuner available.

Looking for advice on how to get this problem resolved.
