Well, this isn't exactly what you were looking for, but there is conversion linux software available. Have a look here - http://www.freedownloadscenter.com/B...vcd-linux.html

Looks like XMMS will do the job. Here you go - http://freshmeat.net/projects/avi-xmms/

To play those files in mplayer, you have to install codecs available at mplayer site.
You might be able to find a rpm which name will looks like w32codecs or win32-codecs on the internet. |
hmm ok, but i have installed those coedcs from packman but you know what i can't even play .avi files, when i play .avi files in mplayer it says "Cannot find codec for audio format 0x56444152" so what i do now any ideas ppl?
let me know. thnx |
Here is how I would pull a steam from a radio station using .asf
mplayer -cache 4 -playlist http://38.116.132.9/JackFM?MSWMExt=.asf Don't know what format 0x56444152 is... is this a quicktime .avi or a DivX .avi? You can force Mplayer to use specific Audio and Video DRIVER's but I don't think you can force it to use a specific codec, but you'll have to find out what it is first. Perhaps try your video with the -nosound option and see if the video is at least comming up... KC |
im also getting this error when playing .avi files "ERROR: Could not open required DirectShow codec qdv.dll"
so any ideas ppl? |
