Probably. Maybe you'd even get more help, if you told us something about your hardware, what microphone, error(s), etc.

If you say you succeeded in making an audio/video call, one would assume your microphone is already working.

Hi TBOne,As I said in my previous post, Skype video in SuSE 11.2 is not working(or was not working for me) since 10.3, audio (I mean I could not hear anything from the speakers) was not working in SUSE 11.2. I succeded with the help of members of this forum, to make both working.
When I had a video contact I heard and see the contact but he could not hear me. Then I go to Windows 7 I have as a second OS and there everything is working - microphone too. So it is not a problem of hardware. Has to do something with pulse audio server or its setup. And as I said I am not an expert and that is why I need help

Well, you still say nothing about your hardware, so how can anyone help you set it up? Different hardware, different settings, both in the system and in pulse, etc.

And sorry, most folks aren't going to go hunt down your previous post...in THIS thread, you don't give any details. There is a post I put in "Success Stories" about getting Skype to work under openSUSE 11.x, audio only. Since you're not giving details, the best thing I can suggest is for you to check your mixer settings, and to turn up the mic gain.

I was having a similar problem with my USB WebCam. I knew the microphone was being detected by the system because the audio level indicators were moving when I ran the various sound monitors. I found the solution by running the PulseAudio Volume Control. With that open, select the "Recording" tab. Then run Skype and do the "Sound Devices" and "Make Test Call". As soon as it prompts to record you own voice, a "Skype: Input" meter will show up in the Volume Control window on the PulseAudio Volume Control. Quickly select the down arrow to the left of the "Skype: Input" meter, and "Move Stream". Select the USB device. This will cause the sound bars to start moving in the "Skype: Input" meter. Once this happens, it should start to work. This worked for me anyway.

Riba43,
I had a microphone problem with Open SUSE 11.2. This was with a headset plugged in the front of my Dell Inspiron 530 Desktop. In the mixer window I clicked the Input tab and selected Microphone 2. Immediately my mike started working.
Cheers. Ray.

Skype with Open SUSE 11.2

Hi anyone, I installed Skype on Open SUSE 11.3 last week. It won't load. By the way, it was the first time I installed Skype ever. Since I thought the 11.3 might not be stable yet, I change it to 11.2, and installed Skype again. Still it won't load. What should I do?

You should open your own thread for your own question. Re-opening threads that are 9 months old isn't a good idea. Also, you need to provide some actual details. Like WHY it won't load, what error(s) you got, with what kind of hardware. We can't guess.
