How to install Epson EPL-6200L laser printer in SuSE 10.0

Hi,

maybe somebody can help. i have bought and connected a new laser printer Epson EPL-6200L on my system. The printer is recognized by the system, but i cant configure it. I have downloaded a non proprietary driver and i can see now the right version on the list of printers. When trying to configure I get the following message:

"This printer is not supported by SUSE LINUX. Find information regarding supported and unsupported printers in your product documentation.
If the printer can be switched to support a standard printer language (PostScript, PCL, or ESC/P), it can be configured as that type of printer. Ask the vendor of the printer whether this model understands a standard printer language directly (not through a driver emulation) and how to switch the printer into the standard printer language mode, for example, using an additional PostScript module."

What shall I do to properly install this printer???
:study:

PS: I have googled and try to get some info from Epson but until now there is nothing usable.

This is all I found. Not very SUSE specific, but maybe helpful:

I got this:
Code:

checking for OS USB support... ./configure: line 2218: test: 18.8: integer expression expected
Linux 2.6.18.8 ... incompatible - too old?
checking for libusb... no

after a bit of hacking... i got this:
Code:

checking for OS USB support... Linux 2.6.18.8 - configured to yes - I hope you know what you are doing
checking for libusb... no

could it be the path to libusb ??

ah btw.. this is suse 10.2

EDIT: sorry... this was a desperate post because I couldn't find any help elsewhere, i didn't realized the date ;|
But i also found this one dated 3/2005 which says
