How i connect Suse 10.2 to a modem router?!?


Hi,
iīm just starting using a Suse 10.2,but canīt connect to web or Modem router, i alredy have configured the network connection whith router IP, and have tried everithin i ever see, but still not connecting!
Can evererione tell me how can i connect to my modem router ADSL?

Ok, firstly are you connecting via wireless with your router?(as this is, obviously, not as simple as connecting via a cable)
Secondly, are you using a static or dynamic IP address?

Ha! I had that problem, too. (Probably, in my case it was 10.0 or 10.1)

I'm not sure that this is going to help you much, but I never did get it working. I did note that SuSE asks the wrong questions when trying to set this up (it asks about what needs to happen to log in to your ISP - at least in my case, my modem/router knows how to do this, but my OS should know how to log into the M/R, and I am never asked the information needed for that to happen). I spent some time trying variations on the log in procedure without anything even heading in the vague direction of joy.

When I tried Knoppix/*buntu/Mepis they all worked first time, without any messing around and I took the line of least resistance on that computer. I'd still like to know what works, though. And I'm still wondering why more people don't have this problem.
