Hosting a Intranet Web Site in Apache Server

A Linux newbie trying to configure a Apache HTTP Server to host an internal intranet web site and eventually host a external web site.
The OS is openSuse 10.2 and using Yast to configure it, but I'm getting confused.
Listen Ports and Addresses -
HTTP Service is enabled
Listen on Ports is set to <network address of server> / port 80
open port in firewall is enabled to <network address of server> / port 80
Server modules are set to default (have no idea what to enable)
main host ???????
hosts ??????
have no idea what to do here, can someone please point me in the right direction!

Is Apache up and running? Point your browser to http://<ip or hostname here>:80 if all is well you will see a message.

Yes, have gotten a 403 & 404 error. Could this be from the access.conf file not set up correctly??

See the following for an explaination of the error codes.

403: http://www.checkupdown.com/status/E403.html
404: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/404_error

Hopefully these will help you to resolve the problem.
