Ho to use GPG signatures / keys on an OpenSuSE DVD?

I know this is probably a stupid question since everybody seems to know how to do this -- except me, that is. But then, I found no explanation either... Here is my problem then:

I got the newest OpenSuSE DVD from a magazine. There is no md5sum to check if it is whole but right in the uppermost directory is a bunch of GPG signatures (or keys?). I presume they can be used to check the DVDs integrity but I have no idea how to do that. There are keys in some subdirectories too. Could anybody here please point me in the right direction or post a link where I can read how to proceed checking that DVD? Thanks awfully.

<edit>I asked something similar earlier here:
http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...e-them-717416/. Obviously I didn't understand it then (and I also had no DVD then to try). That's changed after getting an actual DVD and re-reading. My apologies Vit77, I'll try the suggestions over the weekend. @everybody: thank you for reading.</edit>

Wel most opensuse CD or DVD has option to check integrity of the CD OR DVD before installing it.
Use that option and opensuse will tell you at the end of the check if it is ok or not to use it as install media

Oho. I never noticed that. I'll have a go at it over the christmas holidays when I hopefully find the time to install. Thanks for the suggestion.

<edit> Already tried it. Result: No Errors found. Thanks again, ronlau9 </edit>

<edit2> Here http://www.g-loaded.eu/2006/10/07/ve...mage-on-linux/ is a useful link for creating valid md5sums from CDs/DVDs, i.e. ones which make sense to compare with the iso image on the hard disk. </edit2>

<edit3 2010-09-22> Here is some more information concerning the general use of gpg for checking file integrity (shamelessly copied from a post of win32sux):

http://www.kernel.org/signature.html
http://www.gnupg.org/documentation/faqs.html
