GTK 1 apps Fonts problems on KDE
Hallo,
I have a problem with fonts that are used by GTK 1 apps, like XMMS, meaning, I do not read Greek fonts, but question marks and squares. My default language is Greek with UTF-8 support as this is the default configuration for SuSE 9.2. I use KDE and the GNOME packages that are installed are the "basics", meaning: gtk-engines-0.12-960 gtk2-2.4.9-10 gtk-1.2.10-882 libgtkhtml-2.6.1-3 gtk-qt-engine-0.6cvs20050229-4.1 gnome-vfs2-2.6.1-38.4 gnome-mime-data-2.4.1-84 gnome-libs-1.4.1.7-674 gnome-keyring-0.2.1-5 libgnomecanvas-2.6.0-5 libgnomeui-2.6.0-6 gnome-filesystem-0.1-189.2 gnome-icon-theme-1.2.3-8 libgnome-2.6.1-6 The 9.2 is the upgrate of 8.2 in which I used the /etc/gtk/gtkrc.el in order to provide GTK 1 apps with Greek (aka non latin) fonts. The upgrate obviously did a lot of changes so, I do not know where to look for the solution. The "fonts" packages that are installed are: xorg-x11-fonts-scalable-6.8.1-15 sgi-fonts-1.0-707 ghostscript-fonts-other-7.07.1rc1-207 fonts-thryomanes-1.1-141 fonts-config-20041001-2 xorg-x11-fonts-75dpi-6.8.1-15.5 fontconfig-2.2.96.20040728-9 fontconfig-devel-2.2.96.20040728-9 ghostscript-fonts-std-7.07.1rc1-207 efont-unicode-0.4.2-2 intlfonts-ttf-1.2.1-192 Please note that I do not have problem with Greek menus on GTK2 apps (GIMP 2.0) is working perfectly fine). Any help would be valuable. Thank you in advance, Peter |
