GRUB Error 18 on a Dell Lat D600

Fired up my laptop this morning and GRUB ERROR 18 is what I saw. This is a
SUSE 10/WINXP Installation that has been running flawlessly for about a
year on a LAtitude D600. I know error 18 generally refers to an overly
large drive in conflict with the system bios, but just suddenly appearing
like this as me scratching my head.

The search on these forums just brings up a blank page for me, btw. Is it on the blink?

well as I assume you have not changed your bios and we know it used to work..me scratchee head as well.

can you go back into bios and reset LBA to on pls....
if you are at a grub screen ...press C for commands and redo grub such as
root (hdX,y)...where is your /boot partition in grub speak
setup (hd0)
