FUSE Installation on Suse 9.1 Personal

I'm trying to install FUSE ( fuse.sf.net ) on Suse linux Personal 9.x . I get through "./configure" OK, but then when I try to "make" I get this error:

make[2]: Entering directory `/usr/src/linux-2.6.4-52'
make[2]: *** No rule to make target `[the directory leading up to..]./fuse-1.3/kernel'. Stop.
make[2]: Leaving directory `/usr/src/linux-2.6.4-52'
make[1]: *** [all-spec] Error 2
make[1]: Leaving directory `/home/[the directory leading up to...]/fuse-1.3/kernel'
make: *** [all-recursive] Error 1

I'm a newbie to linux, so somebody please help me....

Thanks,
Dave
