Firefox start problem with php files

I am having a problem starting firefox when I click on an index.php file.
The tab at the top keeps repeating itself and will not stop. Repeating blank screens are shown.

Anyone, have an idea what is wrong and how to fix it.

Is it a public website? Try with javascript switched off.

If you left-click on a php file, I would expect it to open and show the text/script. If you right-click and select open with firefox, it should show the page. Not sure what you are trying to do? One would usually open the web browser (firefox) first and then go to the php file.

PHP will be excuted within the web server or if you have installed the php cli. But if it opens a tab and tries to load and reload something then there is probably some javascript code in it. PHP does not open browser tabs or automatically reloads.

I am clicking onthe index.php file in dolphin such files should be opened with firefox. Guess it is not a common problem. I can only make it open with localhost/phpBB3/index.php
if I try to open with the path /srv/www/htdocs/phpBB3/index.php it motor boats again.
Can't figure out what is the problem.

You can open /srv/www/htdocs/phpBB3/index.php with a text editor as php is a script. If you open that with firefox it should display the text in the file or offer you to download a text file, not the web site represented by that.

Javascript instead is working in the browser. So if there is a redirect in the index.php by javascript this will try to lead you somewhere else but it can't as you are not calling it from the server but in "text mode"

So have you tried to open it with disabled javascript?

No, that is not expected behavior. When you do that in dolphin, you should see it open and show your code.

That's the way it should work.

If you prefix that with firefox, it will open the way I presume you want.

I don't know what the problem is with the repeating tab and blank screen but have you tried disabling javascript?
