Finding WG511T Chipset

According to the hardware compatability list Netgear's WG511T PCMCIA card is supported by SUSE with chipset AR5212. I am about to purchase one of these via eBay Express, but in the past it has been my experience that manufacturers tend to use different chipsets within the same product line (and only some actually work with SUSE). Is there any easy way to ensure that I get the correct chipset on a boxed product?

Unfortunately, there is no easy way to determine this. You need the exact serial number of the card in order to search the manufacturer web sight and determine the exact configuration. That is why I still keep ndiswrapper handy.
