Sounds like your program is broken.
Since you don't supply any information about the program, what version or distro of Linux you're running, or any meaningful information about the problem, the best you can get is a generic answer.
Also, this would be a better question to post in the programming forum. it would help if you posted the code in question, and more information about it.
