DVD won't mount until I run K3B

^ That's pretty much it in a nutshell, I can't mount a DVD in Suse 10 until I start up K3B, then the desktop icon appears, Totem starts, I can browse it from Nautilus etc.

Probably something simple eh?

Check /etc/fstab

Entry for your dvd device must have 'user' in it.

Here is what i have in my /etc/fstab
Code:
/dev/dvd /media/dvd subfs noauto,fs=cdfss,ro,procuid,nosuid,nodev,exec,iocharset=utf8,user 0 0
You'll need root access to write to the file and be sure not to alter anything else. Also make a backup of fstab.

This will hopefully solve your problem.

Thanks...

"user" wasn't there, I added it to all three, still doesn't mount.
Code:
/dev/cdrom /media/cdrom subfs noauto,fs=cdfss,ro,procuid,nosuid,nodev,exec,iocharset=utf8,user 0 0
/dev/cdrecorder /media/ subfs noauto,fs=cdfss,ro,procuid,nosuid,nodev,exec,iocharset=utf8,user 0 0
/dev/hdc /media/cdrom subfs noauto,fs=cdfss,ro,procuid,nosuid,nodev,exec,iocharset=utf8,user 0 0

They output nothing, just return to the prompt.

That means DVD is mounted correctly. May be Nautilus is not trying to mount it. I have never used Gnome, so cann't help you further.
