Discs not recognized in openSUSE alpha 5

I just installed openSUSE 10.3 Alpha 5 and it seems a lot buggier than previous alpha releases (I know that may be an oxymoron). The install went smoothly but now it doesn't recognize any discs that are inserted in my dvd drive. And when I click on the 'my computer' icon on the desktop, it only shows the hard drive, no optical drive with a disc inserted.

There's quite a few differences between 10.3 and 10.2 in /dev and /etc/fstab. 10.2 lists the hard drive as hda while 10.3 lists it as sda. And while 10.2 has symbolic links for dvd and dvdrecorder, 10.3 has the same links listed as ata and scsi-ata.

Anyway, I was wondering if anyone knows how to mount the dvd drive manually from the terminal so I can use the install dvd to install additional programs.

TIA.

Not Absolutely sure.

If its in fstab could try:

mount (device-path) (mount-path)

if not might try for dvd's

mount -t udf (device-path) (mount-path)

I tried a couple of variations of the suggestions above but no luck. I also found a bugzilla report at openSUSE.org of the same problem. Maybe there's no fix until this bug is fixed.
