DHCP client not assigning gateway address
Hi.
I have a problem when trying to connect to the internet via my speedtouch dsl modem. My Speedtouch can be set up to "assign the public ip address to local device", which activates DMZ for a selected device. This works fine in windows, but in Linux, I can't get online when I use DHCP. I get the public IP-address alrigth, and it seems as the dns addresses are right as well, but somehow it doesn't assign a gw address. in mandriva 2007 I fixed this by using a different dhcp client (not sure which one, but I changed it from the default client to something else in the list), and then it worked. Now I'm trying out SLED 10 which has the same issue, but I can't find a way to resolve this issue. It seems as the gw address depends on which official ip adress I'm assigned, so I can't use a static gw address. Any ideas? |
looked in dhclient.conf
inside dhclient.conf it says:
