/dev/null device does not exist?


hi not too sure what i have done to get this but now everytime i open the command window i get something like this
/dev/null device does not exist
/dev/null device does not exist
/dev/null device does not exist
not sure if it is anything major havent had alot of time to play with it but i think it may have been when i tryed to see if i could get my zoom asdl modem working

I am not sure if this applies, but since you mentioned a modem, there is a chance:

that sounds like the culprit but my modem does not work with linux i gave up and am going to wait untill i get a router. any idea on how to perform the update as i can't use YOU untill i am online under linux

You can manually download the wvdial package from the SUSE server:
ftp://ftp.suse.com/pub/suse/i386/upd...-61.3.i586.rpm
and install it with 'rpm -Uhv wvdial-1.54-61.3.i586.rpm'
