desktop icons and background dissapeared in Gnome suse 10.2

im running openSuSe 10.2 and recently my desktop background and my desktop icons in Gnome have dissapeared, everything else works fine. all my icons and backgrounds are fine in root, or if i login into a kde session instead of gnome. i assume there is some issue with my gnome configuration? how can i solve this?

does this problem re-appear after a reboot?

in all seriousness, i believe that you can delete a file or two that might bring that back.. like gtkdefaults or something... i'll look into it when i get home...

well it did. but the problem seems to have ended. i opended up my home folder from my applications menu and voila! everything seems to be back to normal
