delete/uninstall SuSE howto?

On my current network I have a Win XP/SuSE machine and two Win XP machines. I want to change the SuSE/Win XP machine to the better of the desktops. I know how to install SuSE on the better machine, but not delete/uninstall it on the lesser one.

Thanks in advance.

So you want to know how to drop SuSE from the dual-booted machine, while not killing the WinXP install along with it?

The easiest way to do such is to boot from a Windows-based bootdisk and use fdisk. Booting from a WinXP install CD and then quiting to a command prompt will let you run fdisk, delete all the non-MSDOS (read: Linux) partitions and reset the mbr to clear out the bootloader.

More detailed instructions available if this is what you're after.

If you are looking for details:

Getting rid of the data should not be the problem. Delete the partition with fdisk and create a FAT or NTFS formated partition from the Windows system.

Hi

Does your dual boot b0x have 2 hard drives? (ie. one OS on each) If so, just get your Win XP CD, boot to the recovery console, and run 'fixboot and fixmbr. Then remove the drive with your Linuxc install (assuming it's not the primarymaster). If both OSes are on a single drive, you could do fixboot/fixmbr, delete the Linux partitions and the resize the Win XP one to occupy the remaining space.

Yall super duper. Thanks a bunch. I thought that was how I would do it (from recovery console) but I wanted to make sure. So much can go wrong in so little time!
