Cyrus SASL & Postfix RPM Build

Can anyone tell me if Postfix for SuSE 9.2 is compiled with SASL? I've been trying to get this installed on a test system to do a new test study and so far I've come up empty no thanks to absolutely horrid documentation on this process.

I have tried to set it up using the stock binaries, but testing shows "no mechinism for authentication" or something similar. I then tried to build a new RPM with SASL included but the documentation on this was hard too follow as it was for Cyrus and Postfix version v1-. I ended up not even trying to completely the process as I looked at the SPEC file for POSTFIX and it was too complicated to modify for SASL.

We currently use SASL and Postfix in our production servers, but other than telling me that they were custom compiled, nobody can here can remember how they did it.

I guess I'm asking if anyone anywhere has current information on how to add Cyrus SASL w/ TLS to work with Postfix. I'd prefer to make a custom RPM for future use, but this seems to be way overly complicated. It's a real shame too as Cyrus is a very nice tool for e-mail servers that can't have local user accounts. For being so darn popular you'd think there would be some type of documentation out there that could help, but what is out there doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me at least.

Help!
