Creating Boot CDs

Trying to create a boot CD (I don't have a floppy drive) using the instructions Creating Boot CDs in the SuSE help-center. I can't post a url because I am a n00b.

I followed all of the instuctions without a problem but when I get to making the ISO it doesn't work. I get:
Code:
SuSE:~>mkisofs -R -b boot/grub/stage2_eltorito -no-emul-boot -boot-load-size 4 -boot-info-table -o grub.iso iso
INFO: UTF-8 character encoding detected by locale settings.
Assuming UTF-8 encoded filenames on source filesystem,
        use -input-charset to override.
mkisofs: No such file or directory. Invalid node - iso
so I removed the last iso and get:
Code:
SuSE:~>mkisofs -R -b boot/grub/stage2_eltorito -no-emul-boot -boot-load-size 4 -boot-info-table -o grub.iso
INFO: UTF-8 character encoding detected by locale settings.
Assuming UTF-8 encoded filenames on source filesystem,
        use -input-charset to override.
mkisofs: Missing pathspec.
Usage: mkisofs [options] file...

Use mkisofs -help
to get a list of valid options.
I have tried this as root as well without any luck. All of these commands are being executed from inside /home and yes the folders are boot/grub/ so I could copy and paste the command to make sure I wan't screwing it up.

The command looks a little different to the one that I found in this HowTo:
http://portal.suse.com/sdb/en/2002/0...el_bootcd.html
Maybe it helps.

That's right, but this instruction is for writing ISO to CD, not for creating boot CD's. In your case the ISO must be already bootable. Your link actually describes the last step in above protocol.

I figured it out. I had to read the man page for mkisofs 5 times and then after one look at the link you provided abisko00 I figured it out.

The last ISO in the command is actually where the folder holding the files you want in the ISO is. Like this.
Code:
SuSE:~>mkisofs -R -b stage2_eltorito -no-emul-boot -boot-load-size 4 -boot-info-table -o grub.iso boot/grub/
Although the ISO was created I haven't yet tried booting from it yet. I will let you know.
Thanks abisko00.
