change Default User to a different group Suse 10.1

I upgraded to Open Suse 10.1 from 10. I am using Suse mostly for a Digital Audio Workstation and need to assgin me to the audio group. I go under ROOT and change in Yast2 the user group to be a default "AUDIO" but when I write changes and re-open the Security & Users and recheck the groups again I have been changed back to "users" group..What am I doing wrong here...

Try running

Code:

usermod -g audio YOUR-USER

as root. BTW, you'd better upgrade to OpenSuSE 10.2.

I do have 10.2 but can't get all my programs to work yet...I think it could be operator error...
