Can't mount Windows hda1 disk, permission denied

This ties in to my other thread about failure to get a flash drive working. Something else went way wrong. I was following some instructions on how to mount the flash drive. I created a file on the desktop called flash. Somewhere along the line I rebooted with the flash drive installed. The system wouldn't boot normal. I noticed I had the flash still in a usb port
and removed it and I was able to boot into Suse. So still trying to figure out the flash I thought I'd try it on windows XP (dual boot). Windows wouldn't boot. So I went back into Suse "My Computer" and noticed that the windows disk wasn't mounted. I tried to mount it using right click mount but I get this error: "Error opening partition device: Permission denied
Failed to mount '/dev/sda1': permission denied". Before that I tried to send the "flash" folder I created to trash and got the permission denied error. I'm screwed, not only did not get the flash drive figured out but messed up the windows drive. Help, please.

I got to the disk through root. I tried to mount the disk by right clicking "mount" and got this error: Error-Kio_media_mounthelper

The KDE mediamanager is not running
media:///sda1 cannot be found.

Computer changed the "h" in my drives to "s" e.g. hda1 to sda1. I went through and changed the bootloader menu.list to the way it was before the flash drive experiment. Windows still won't boot. I went into My Computer as root to "mount" the windows drive and it appeared to mount. Then when I was out of root it read the way it did before mounting.
I tried running the Suse repair disk and it wasn't able to get in to do anything. Redazz where are you!
