Cannot hear sounds from Kopete, or Gaim but all others sound s are OK

Ok, I just did a new install of SUSE 9.3, I got it a few days ago, the problem that I am having is that I can hear every single sound possible, (windows open, windows close, error messages, music, CD's, Mp3's etc.)

the sounds that I cannot hear (even though I have the sound option on ) are the sounds from either kopet e or gaim. Can anyone tell me what I have to do so that I can hear those sounds??? this problem is annoying.

Check is they are on in "Control Centre" -> "Sound & Multimedia"
-> "System Notifications" !

I found the answer to my problem,

1) I installed the package called "sox" through YAST

2) I opened up Gaim

3) went to --->tools ---->preferences

4) in the sounds option I switched from automatic to command and in the command line I typed "play"

My sound finally works on GAIM that's great.
