Broadcom Wifi Problems
Hi
I have a Hp Pavilion zv6000 laptop with a broadcom wifi card built in. I heard somewhere that i need ndis wrapper i found this in yast but dont have a clue what to do from there i also have the windows drivers for the wifi card. I am running Open Suse 10.0 i am a linux newbie so please try and keep things simple. Thanks Sampbar |
There are some instructions in the SUSE support database. Haven't tried them, but I see no reason why it shouldn't work. http://portal.suse.com/sdb/en/2004/0...iswrapper.html

Hope you don't mind a little reading and some work because it will work but you may run into a few snags.First I would install the ndiswrapper that came with suse first because it will be easier.They may tell you here or at least you will get the idea, I don't use suse so I don't want to say something stupid;
http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...iswrapper+suse Next it is on to ndiswrapper; http://ndiswrapper.sourceforge.net/m....php/Main_Page I have the same thing a broadcom mine says it is a 4318 but I use a 4306 driver. I can help you with that stuff but first get your feet wet and if you run into a snag or don't understand something , ask away - Good Luck :) |
See the instructions at angelfire.com, (find the susemandriva.html), before following ndiswrapper instructions to "Install Windows Driver".
Have to do it this way because the forum won't let me post URL's. |
