Boot Text: How do I make it look good?
 

I've just got SUSE 9.2 up and running, and I've been impressed with the look and feel of it. The first few times that it booted up, I liked the way it displayed all of the usual boot messages (the font and graphics). I've recently noticed that it now displays all of these messages in plain text. I'm sure this has resulted from changing some sort of configuration (I was having some issues with GRUB at first) and I'm wondering, how can I change it back to the way it was before?

The splash screen is usually activated with the option splash=0/verbose/silent (text-only/graphics and messages/no messages) in /boot/grub/menu.lst. But if you changed the resolution recently using the vga= option in menu.lst, you may need to re-build initrd to include the splash pictures at the new resolution. Simply run 'mkinitrd' from command line as root.

Thanks alot for the help, it turned out to be that I was missing the vga=791 option.
