Black window after Suse welcome screen

Hello colleagues.

I'm having problems when trying to install Suse Enterprise Desktop 10. The DVD boots fine and I can see the welcome screen of Suse, but after I chose the normal installation, got the black screen, chose the other ones (Installation—ACPI Disabled, Installation—Local APIC Disabled, Installation—Safe Settings), and the same black screen, after I tried this several times, I desired to install Ubuntu, a really good Linux and this is the one I'm using right now, but I still want to install Suse, even though I didn't get the error with Ubuntu, I want to experiment the features Suse has. I was looking information for this but haven't found a solution.

P.S.: My monitor displays the message:
Not Optimum Mode
Recommended Mode
1280x1024 60Hz
?
Analog

BTW, my hardware configuration is a Compaq Presario SR1830NX, Integrated ATI RADEON XPRESS 200,
SAMSUNG Sync 730B Flat Monitor, AMD ATHLON 64, 1 GB DDR PC3200 and for Linux an ATA Segate 13 GB.

P.S.: When I installed Ubuntu from the live-cd the resolution was just 800x600, but could finish my installation and after I found the Drivers from www.mesa3d.org (Mesa Project) and it's working just fine.

when the welcome screen loads, look on the bottom and hit the key that changes the resolution. then choose from the menu and hit enter. Try 800x600 if that worked in Ubuntu,

Thanks Lambchops, I will try that and let you know, even though I'm enjoying my Ubuntu.

Thanks Lambchops, I tried and run my installation with a 1024x768 resolution with no problem and Suse Linux Enterprise Desktop 10 could set up all my devices without any issues, It's hard to noticed that you can change the resolution because there's no hint indicating so, unless you surf through the help.

i installed suse enterprose desktop 10 and couldn't find any option for changing resolution in the boot screen but i discovered that adding line "vga=788" to the boot options would also run into 800x600 screen resolution

In the booting screen press F3 and then you can choose the resolution you want to begin installation, but yours is another solution.

Thanks...
