Hi. I am trying to find someone that has successfully installed the ATI driver on Suse 9.3 32bit version. Especially if you have the X700Pro. I have looked at all the instructions I can find and I perform the tasks and everything seems to be ok. But when I run 'glxgear' it still is not running 3D. Someone help please ASAP. I can still return the card if I find this to be a helpless case. Tell me what you did to make it work. Thank you in advance.
I do get this error when I try to setup Sax2 and I haven't the slightest as to what it is telling me.
linux:~ # sax2 -r -m 0=fglrx -b /usr/share/doc/packages/sax2-profile
SaX: initializing please wait...
SaX: including [Driver:0] profile: firegl...
SaX: including profile: /usr/share/doc/packages/sax2-profile...
init: could not open file: /usr/share/doc/packages/sax2-profile at /usr/X11R6/lib/sax/init.pl line 1002.
I did run the Sax2 command but my monitor went blank and I had to do a cold reboot. When I got back running in X I check the fglrx info and it finally said ATI and the glxgears are off the chart.... Lets see how long this lasts.
I had the driver installed right but for some reason everytime i boot in init 5 my monitor will not work. It is as black as my girlfriend.. JK and it says that optimum resolution is not in use and all that jazz. I know it is and I tried using the generic LCD format instead of my manufacture model, which is the Samsung Syncmaster 930b. But that doesn't help either. I don't know what to do now other than just be pissed off. Anyone have any suggestions?
