ATI Radeon x200 makes suse freeze
I have a motherboard with RS480 chipset and a x200 graphics card (onbaord). (Jetway A210 GDMS-PRO). During the installation of SuSE 10.1 - when it configures your hardware the system always hangs if I run the graphics configuration test and starts up normally after I reboot it.
If I don't test it installation completes successfully but SuSE won't boot properly, freezes as soon as the cursor gets displayed.
Even though the test froze I can play back movies and such, the graphics seems to work fine... but then when I install the ATI drivers it won't work either
I wasn't sure which to use so I tried to install the motherboard graphics cards driver and the Radeon one. I did all the steps as prescribed in the manual, what could be the problem?
I then tried to restrore my system, but even safe mode freezes, how do I restore my backed-up X conf file?
Thanks
