Apache2 installation with Yast on Suse10.0 CGI problems

I have the default Apache2 setup from Yast2.
What do I have to adjust/modify/or add to the default setup to be able to run CGI scripts.
My scripts do run from the command line, so there doesn't seem to be anything wrong with them.
Yet,despite the fact that I have chown'd and chmod'd the script files, to the proper user and group names I get the:
"Server error!
The server encountered an internal error and was unable to complete your request.
Error message:
Premature end of script headers: first.pl
If you think this is a server error, please contact the webmaster.
Error 500"
message.
Thank you for any suggestion
